This policy applies to formula1dashboard.com and app.formula1dashboard.com, including the Formula 1 Dashboard website and dashboard. The website and dashboard do not offer user accounts.

Who we are

Formula1Dashboard is an independent personal project. Its operator is the data controller for the processing described in this policy.

What data we process

  • Technical data: hosting and image delivery providers may process technical information such as IP address, request time, requested page, browser and device details, and referring page to deliver and secure the service.
  • Analytics: if you accept audience measurement, Google Analytics receives page views and feature interaction events to help us understand how the site is used. It may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to recognise your browser.
  • Error reports: the website sends browser JavaScript errors and unhandled promise rejections to Better Stack for troubleshooting. Reports can include the page URL, browser details, and technical error or stack information.
  • Interactive maps: when a Mapbox map is loaded, Mapbox receives the requests needed to provide map tiles and styles. Those requests can include your IP address and browser information.
  • External feedback: opening the feedback service takes you to Featurebase, which processes information under its own privacy policy when you use that service.

Cookies and browser storage

  • Preferences: theme, map, and layout choices stay in your browser until you clear them. The sidebar cookie lasts seven days and is renewed when you change the sidebar state. Blog filters use temporary storage limited to the current tab session.
  • Consent: CookieConsent stores your choices and a consent record in a cookie shared by the website and dashboard for 182 days (about six months). Accepting, refusing, or withdrawing Analytics consent on either applies to both in the same browser. It does not send those records to a separate consent-platform provider.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics stays blocked unless you accept audience measurement. Analytics cookies are configured for the site's hostname and last up to 180 days, without renewal on each visit. Older cookies may remain until they expire or are removed.

Use Cookie settings to change your choice at any time. Withdrawing consent stops further Analytics collection and removes accessible Analytics cookies. It does not erase previously collected data or affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. If your choice expires or cannot be read, Analytics stays blocked until you accept again. You can also clear browser storage in your browser settings; this resets saved preferences.

Legal bases

Google Analytics audience measurement relies on your consent. Refusing or withdrawing it does not restrict access to public features. Technical data and error reports are processed on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping the service available, resolving faults, and preventing abuse. Preference storage provides the features and settings you request.

Retention

Browser storage follows the periods above. Analytics data and technical logs have separate retention periods; deleting a cookie does not delete those records.

  • Google Analytics: event-level data is retained for two months. User-level data is retained for 14 months, with that period reset when the user is active again. These settings do not apply to standard aggregated reports, which may cover longer periods.
  • Error reports: website error logs in Better Stack are retained for three days.
  • Hosting logs: Our hosting provider, Vercel, may process visitors’ IP addresses and technical request information to deliver and secure the websites. Runtime logs available to us are retained for up to one hour. This does not cover Vercel’s internal infrastructure and security logs, whose retention periods are not specified in the public documentation. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice.

These providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Depending on the provider and the transfer, their published terms provide for the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, including the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable. Details of these mechanisms are available from Vercel, Google, Better Stack, Mapbox, Prismic, Cloudflare, and Featurebase.

Your rights

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also withdraw Analytics consent through Cookie settings.

Contact us at [email protected] for privacy requests. We currently cannot link browsing records to a person who contacts us. If this prevents us from fulfilling your request, we will explain why and consider any information you provide that could help locate the records.

We respond within one month. Complex or numerous requests may require up to two additional months; we will explain any extension within the first month. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, including the CNIL in France.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the website, dashboard, providers, or applicable requirements change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
