Haas F1 Team: Major Home Race Overhaul

The Haas F1 Team has deployed a substantial aerodynamic upgrade package for their home race, the United States Grand Prix. This development arrives as the team intensifies its campaign to secure sixth place in the Constructors' Championship.

The core of the enhancement is a completely redesigned floor assembly, encompassing the floor body, floor fences, and floor edge. This update is described as an evolution of the package introduced at Silverstone, with the team aiming to increase aerodynamic load and specifically bolster performance in high-speed corners.

In conjunction with the new floor, Haas also introduced a refined rear corner winglet and made a slight modification to the mirror stay on the sidepod to optimize airflow alignment. With the Sprint race format severely limiting track time, Haas will face the challenge of validating this significant upgrade during a single practice session before the competitive action begins at the Circuit of the Americas.

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team: Targeted Rear Corner Adjustment

The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team is one of only two outfits to bring a new component to the Austin event. The team focused their efforts on a subtle yet targeted update to the rear corner.

The modification involves a reduction in the upper lip camber of the rear corner to enhance the quality of local airflow around the top wishbone. Furthermore, the winglet span has been reduced to increase clearance around the tires.

Grid-Wide Development Context

The United States Grand Prix features a limited number of team developments overall. This is partly due to the Sprint weekend format, which has historically discouraged teams from introducing major new parts due to the reduced practice time. More significantly, the current focus of the majority of the F1 grid is shifting toward the impending 2026 technical regulation changes, leading to a slowdown in current car development across the paddock.
