Norris's Pole-to-Flag Victory
Starting from the front row, Norris made a clean getaway and quickly established control of the race. His superior pace allowed him to build a comfortable gap over Verstappen, who struggled to match his rival's speed. Despite a few minor incidents, Norris remained unchallenged throughout the majority of the race, ultimately crossing the finish line 20 seconds ahead of the Red Bull driver.
McLaren's Strong Showing
Oscar Piastri also contributed to McLaren's success, securing a podium finish after starting fifth. His impressive performance, combined with Sergio Perez's disappointing result, further widened McLaren's lead over Red Bull Racing in the constructors' championship.
Verstappen's Second Place Finish
While Verstappen's second-place finish was a solid result, it was not enough to extend his championship lead. The Red Bull driver's inability to match Norris's pace highlighted the challenges he faces in the title race.
But it was still an excellent result for Verstappen, who more than limited the damage. Last year, Singapore was a nightmare for Red Bull, which was ultra-dominant at the time.
The U.S. Grand Prix is a long time coming, with a new package announced so that Verstappen can fight Norris on equal terms with a Mclaren that has become the benchmark for the 2024 season.
Other Notable Results
Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton battled it out for fifth place, with Leclerc ultimately prevailing. Fernando Alonso and Nico Hulkenberg added points to their respective teams, while Franco Colapinto continued his impressive rookie season with a strong performance.
